The first Ronald McDonald House established outside the USA was opened in Camperdown, in 1981, near the Children’s Hospital. The house took its name from Dr. Arnold Tink, who was a key figure in seeing Australia’s first Ronald McDonald House established.
In 1995, Ronald McDonald House Camperdown relocated to Westmead, to continue providing its vital services once the Children’s Hospital relocated.
FUNDRAISING FOR OUR CHAPTER
Did you know it costs $154 per night, per family to open the doors at Ronald McDonald House Westmead?
Our Chapter relies heavily on corporate and community support to operate and provide accommodation and services for seriously ill children and their families, 365 days of the year.
To raise these funds, we work with our community through a number of initiatives including, but not limited to, major fundraising events and programs such as our Spring Carnival Race Day, Golf Day, Exclusive Movie screenings, Meals from the Heart and Working Bee and Pick up the Tab programs, financial and in kind donations, and third party fundraising.
See our "Ways to Support" pages in the menu on each page for more information on how you can get involved with the Chapter today.
