Staying at the house

Ronald McDonald House located inside QLD Children’s Hospital gives seriously ill children the best gift of all – their families. Our House is a warm and supportive home-away-from-home for families of children who are inpatients at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

We are one of the few Ronald McDonald Houses located in the hospital building. Our aim is to give parents and carers of critically ill children peace of mind, knowing that they are close-by to comfort their child whenever they are needed. We are a small but comfortable and modern facility, with 10 guest rooms, beverage bay and communal pantry and a lounge and TV area.

Guest Rooms

We have 10 cosy guest bedrooms with access to communal bathroom facilities within the House.

TV and Lounge area

Our lounge is a homely space to allow you to get a bit of relief from the sometimes claustrophobic nature of the wards.

Other Amentities

During your stay with us, you’ll be able to access all the other facilities available to patients, families and guests at the QLD Children’s Hospital. Being a small House, we aren’t able to offer a great deal of amenities. For basic needs like washing, you can make use of 24/7 guest laundries on Levels 8 and 11 of the hospital.

House Programs

Ronald McDonald House inside the Queensland Children’s Hospital  relied on financial donations and volunteering to provide the accommodation and support services that we give to seriously ill or injured children and their families. We are very grateful to receive support from members of the community who, together with our corporate partners generously donate funds, goods and services to our charity.
