Keeping our families safe - an update on COVID-19 (CoronaVirus)

Continuing to provide a safe and supportive environment for families of seriously ill children at our Ronald McDonald Houses and Programs is our absolute priority.

Given the current COVID-19 situation, we have made important changes to our Programs to increase protection for our families, volunteers and staff.

These include:

  • Reduced occupancy within our Houses to comply with Government Social Distancing requirements
  • Suspension of our Family Room and Family Retreat Programs – however, we are preparing to re-open these Programs safely over the coming weeks
  • Suspension of our Learning Program face-to-face Tuition – however, we are offering online tuition for eligible Year 11 and Year 12 students
  • Increasing our existing personal hygiene and sanitisation practices
  • Working closely with our Hospital and Health partners to identify new and additional family support during this difficult time

These efforts are necessary to prioritise the safety of our families and children who are particularly vulnerable throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.
