Keeping our families safe - an update on COVID-19 (CoronaVirus)

Continuing to provide a safe and supportive environment for families of seriously ill children at our Ronald McDonald Houses and Programs is our absolute priority.

Given the current COVID-19 situation, we are making important changes to our programs to increase protection for our families, volunteers and staff.

These include:

  • sourcing alternate accommodation for new family referrals to Ronald McDonald House from 1st April 2020
  • closure of communal areas within our Houses to ensure we can adhere to the current Government physical distancing requirements
  • Family Room closures or re-purposing by Hospitals for front-line health staff
  • Minimising all non-essential entry to our Houses and Programs
  • Increasing our existing personal hygiene and sanitisation practices
  • Working closely with our Hospital and Health partners to identify new and additional family support during this difficult time

These efforts are necessary to prioritise the safety of our families and children who are particularly vulnerable throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.
