On the road to better health

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile

Our Care Mobile is bringing children's health care to rural and remote NSW

About the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program®

Families living in rural or remote NSW, and having to travel far for treatment, often have to make long, tiring and expensive journeys to city hospitals.

We saw this time and time again. So we decided to do something about it.

Partnering with Royal Far West, we launched the first Australian Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, bringing mobile healthcare to rural and remote areas of NSW – offering clinical treatment and lessening the burden on families of seriously ill children.

What exactly is a Care Mobile?

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a 12-metre long vehicle fitted with two consulting rooms that are utilised by teams of Royal Far West clinicians. It provides a range of health care services including:

  • Paediatrics
  • Speech therapy
  • Dietetics
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Psychiatry
  • Social work

How to access the Care Mobile

To use this incredible facility, patients and their families need to contact Royal Far West's Manly-based service. The vehicle itself is based and administered from Ronald McDonald House Orange.
