Visiting the Family Room

Take a break and be together as a family at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Gold Coast Hospital’s Children’s Inpatient Unit.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is a refuge for you and your family while visiting or staying with a child in hospital. Step away from the ward and into our welcoming, nautical-themed Family Room where you’ll find kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities, a cosy lounge with a TV and a children’s play space with toys and activities.

Our Team

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is managed by our RMHC South East Queensland Gold Coast Coordinator and run by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Eligibility

We want to make sure families have a home-away-from-home inside the Hospital, away from the clinical environment of the ward. That’s why our Family Room is free and open to all families whose children are undergoing treatment at the Gold Coast University Hospital Children’s Ward.

Fees

Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are free of charge. Thanks to generous donations, families have a space away from the wards to recoup and simply be together.

Family Room Programs

Every year RMHC SEQ must raise the funds needed to provide the accommodation and support services that we give to seriously ill or injured children and their families. We are very grateful to receive support from members of the community who, together with our corporate partners generously donate funds, goods and services to our charity.

There are many ways you can contribute to our Family Room located in Gold Coast Hospital.
