"IN GIVING BACK TO PARENTS AND SICK CHILDREN, I HAVE GAINED MORE THAN I HAVE GIVEN, MET SOME WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND MADE TRULY GREAT FRIENDSHIPS" - WESTMEAD VOLUNTEER

For decades, Ronald McDonald House Westmead has been a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families, opening its doors to more than 600 families every year.

Without the contributions of volunteers, housing, supporting and caring for those families during their toughest times simply wouldn't be possible.

And with the new Ronald McDonald House Westmead set to open in February, 2018, with the capacity to take in 1,360 families a year, we need the support of volunteers more urgently than ever.

Ronald McDonald House Westmead is searching for Volunteers to donate their time across a range of roles in the new House starting in 2018, from Family Ambassadors to House Keeping.

FAMILY AMBASSADOR VOLUNTEERS:

Family Ambassadors provides daily support at our welcome and reception desk. They are a welcoming presence within the house, a smiling face and listening ear for the families. Family Ambassadors ensure all families are given a full orientation to our house to support and welcome them to their home away from home, as well as taking care of general administration duties.

HOUSE KEEPING VOLUNTEERS:

House Keeping Volunteers support the daily functions of our House, including checking and cleaning rooms to ensure they are ready for a new family to check in, and putting welcome packs and presents for kids into the rooms. House Keeping Volunteers also work with the housekeeping team to provide a safe and clean house for the families, tidying communal kitchens, dining, lounge and play areas. It’s a hands-on role, that includes liaising with families during their time of need.

And we always need helping hands to assist with the every day operations of the House, our Family Room, and fundraising events.
