The first Ronald McDonald House established outside the USA was opened in Camperdown 1981 near the Children’s Hospital.
The house was named after Dr Arnold Tink who was a key figure in seeing Australia’s first Ronald McDonald House established.
Ronald McDonald House Camperdown relocated to Westmead in November 1995 when the Children’s Hospital relocated.
The current house has 18 rooms plus 5 units which can accommodate 109 per night.
A new, 60-room house is set to open in February, 2018, with enough space to accommodate 1,360 families each year.
