HOME FOR DINNER
Ronald McDonald House Perth provides a home away from home for regional WA families of seriously ill children with the aim to keep families close during their time of need. By coming into the House and preparing dinner for families, baking delicious treats or cooking up a feast for breakfast, can help take the stress away and make lives that bit easier.
HOME FOR DINNER
The Home For Dinner program invites teams of co-workers, teammates, community groups, friends or family members to prepare and cook a meal for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House. Parents will often return to the House after a long day at the hospital with their child and preparing and cooking a meal may be the last thing on their minds.
The House in Nedlands is fitted with a commercial kitchen and a full time chef to provide you with professional catering support. We provide the kitchen, food and expert catering support – you provide the manpower! Dress up, decorate the dining room, theme your experience how you wish. Groups wishing to take part will be asked to make a minimum financial contribution of $770 to cover the costs of ingredients.
After cooking dinner, we encourage you to sit down and enjoy dinner whilst spending time getting to know our RMH families. Then finish up your evening with a tour of our fabulous home away from home. We can ensure you’ll have an awesome time and a very rewarding experience, all whilst helping make families lives that little bit easier.

HOME FOR DINNER FAQ'S
How many people can cook in the kitchen?
The commercial kitchen holds a maximum of 10 people. If you have more than a group of 10 we recommend holding an activity with 3-5 people in the dining room.
How many people will we be cooking for?
You will be cooking for approx. 75-100 people but don’t panic our chef will be on hand to assist!
Where can I park?
Parking is available on local streets around the House or at the QEII visitor car parks. More info here
What should we wear?
Please ensure that comfortable clothing and closed shoes (e.g. trainers, boots, pumps) are worn and long hair is tied back. Any team member not wearing the appropriate footwear will be refused entry into the kitchen.
Can I bring my children?
Unfortunately, no children under 16 are able to attend the House. All team members must be over 16 years of age. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We appreciate your cooperation and ask you to leave children at home so you can have the full Home for Dinner experience.
Can we drink alcohol?
You are able to bring any refreshments including alcohol, provided this is consumed responsibly. Any alcohol must be consumed in plastic cups, NO GLASS.
Can we theme the evening?
You are welcome to dress up, decorate the dining room or hold an activity, for example, face painting or colouring.
How many tables are there in the dining room?
Approx 10-15 depending on set up.
Are we able to play music in the dining room?
You certainly can!
If Home For Dinner isn't the right fit for your group, there are two other cooking programs you can come in and get involved with, Lovin' from the Oven and the Big Breakfast.
LOVIN' FROM THE OVEN
The Lovin’ From The Oven program allows groups to spend a morning in our kitchen from 9.30am - 12pm baking a selection of delightful treats for our families to enjoy throughout the day. Your team provides the ingredients, recipes and bakers…We provide the mouths to feed!
THE BIG BREAKFAST
The Big Breakfast is a delicious program where groups will provide full ingredients, recipes and manpower. You will take over our commercial kitchen and cook up a fabulous breakfast for our families to enjoy between 9am-10am. This program is only available on weekends and groups will need to arrive at 7.30am for set up and preparation.
