OUR HISTORY

In 1991 Ronald McDonald House Newcastle opened its doors as the inaugural program which would become part of Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW. Since that time the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms Newcastle, Ronald McDonald House Tamworth, the Ronald McDonald Family Room Gosford and the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat Forster have opened their doors to support families of Northern NSW with sick or injured children and are part of the Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW Chapter.

Mrs Judith Woloschyn - Community Representative

Now retired Jude brings over 20 years experience in sales and customer service in telecommunications and energy. Involved with Ronald McDonald House since 1991, initially as a staff member of Ronald McDonald House Newcastle, Jude continues to serve as a volunteer and Board member.

Mr Edwin 'Ted' Lewis OAM

Ted, a retired Professional Engineer and active member of the Rotary Club of Newcastle has been a member of the Board in a number of executive roles for 13 Years and remains an active volunteer. Ted was awarded an OAM in 1992 for service to scouting and the community.

Mr Stewart Leeman - Community Representative

Stewart had a long-standing career as a Hunter New England Health public servant. Involved with Ronald McDonald House Newcastle during proposal and construction, Stewart has been an active volunteer and member of the Board since the beginning.

Mr Alan Gilmore – Community Representative

Alan, a retired science teacher of 40 years, we appointed to the Board in 2006 and has services as Vice President and Secretary and an active volunteer.  Alan is also passionate about football sitting on the Macquarie Football Board.

Mr Michael Feros - McDonald’s Licensee

Michael is a Local McDonald's Licensee operating 3 stores in the Newcastle region and represents the regions McDonald's Licensees.

Mr Barry Levick – Community Representative

Retired primary school teacher, initially involved with the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat Forster, Barry joint the Board in 2014.

Mrs Patricia ‘Pat’ Marks – Health Services Representative

As General Manager/Director of Nursing, Children, Young People & Family Services, Pat has represented Hunter New England Local Health District on the Board for over 7 years.

Mrs Patricia ‘Margaret’ McNaughton AM – Community Representative

Former Lady Mayoress of Newcastle, Margaret is a Patron and long-serving Board Member involved with Ronald McDonald House for over 25 years.  Margaret was awarded an AM in 1997 for service to the community of Newcastle through health, welfare and service organisations.

OUR CHAPTER FUNDRAISING

We can't help sick or injured children and their families without you. Your support is key to ensuring families throughout Northern NSW with a sick or injured child can have the gift of togetherness and the support and resources they need.

By making a donation or helping to raise money you are helping lighten the burden families face in a time of need. Giving them a warm and safe place to sleep, a home within the hospital, a place to relax and reconnect.

There are many different ways you can be involved and help make a difference to families with sick or injured children. Whether it's a donation, holding an even, participating in a peer-to-peer activity like a fun run or even workplace giving - a monthly pre-tax deduction from your pay.
