THE ROYAL NORTH SHORE HOSPITAL, NSW
This program is governed by the Randwick Chapter. To find out more click here.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room, Royal North Shore Hospital is a sanctuary for parents and carers who have a child being treated at the hospital. With the convenience and comfort of a home environment within the Hospital, it gives families the opportunity to take a break away from the ward. We have a communal kitchen and lounge area along with a bathroom and shower. Guests can help themselves to coffee or cup of tea and make a bite to eat, as well as enjoy homemade cupcakes made with love by our wonderful Volunteers.
The Family Room is located on level Seven of the Clinical Services Building with in the Humpty Dumpty Ward and is accessible 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
How Can You Help?
We are always recruiting for Volunteers to be the ‘heart of the home’ and help in all day-to-day operations of the Family Room. Similar to running our own homes, there is always loads to do and volunteers can contribute in many different ways; such as greeting families, making tea, baking and making our guests feel welcome by sitting and having a chat. All our Volunteers are provided with training and support and become part of our special Volunteer Community.
If you would like more information about Volunteering or other ways to help we would love to hear from you. Please give us a call or send us an email by using the details below.
