We welcome support from businesses, community groups or individuals who wish to support Ronald McDonald House Westmead. There are many ways to make a difference - why not embark on a fundraising initiative, donate in-kind goods to offset the cost of running the House, or participate in a regular giving program.

Generosity from within the community is instrumental in providing the necessary funds for us to continue providing our families with seriously ill children a ‘home away from home’.

Most of us take cooking at home for granted.  Our 'Meals From The Heart' program provides a much-needed service to families who are supporting their sick children and whom often don't have the time, funds or energy to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal. 

Ronald McDonald House Westmead welcomes corporate, community and social groups into the kitchen on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings to take part in making our house a home.

Our Corporate Volunteering program provides your organisation with the opportunity to engage in a broader partnership with Ronald McDonald House Westmead. It will be an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to interact with the families, along with our volunteers and staff, who contribute to make our House a ‘home away from home’. 

Your employees will have a chance to meet families and hear their remarkable stories whilst assisting in a variety of tasks ranging from administrative assistance, to housekeeping, gardening and house maintenance. This is your chance to have a much bigger impact in your community, and to make a real difference in helping us support seriously ill children and their families.

The Ronald McDonald Nepean Family Room is located in the NICU of Nepean Hospital at Penrith and is managed by our Family Room Coordinator, Meagan Preston. It is our mission to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for families of premature and seriously ill babies.  We rely on the support of our community with donations and wonderful volunteers who keep the room clean, tidy and stocked with food items whilst making sure families feel welcomed when using the room. The NSW Ronald McDonald Learning Program (RMLP) is based at Ronald McDonald House Westmead though there are Education Coordinators located in various regions around NSW to support students state-wide. Children in school years Kindergarten to Year 12, who have a serious physical illness and have missed a significant amount of schooling, may be eligible for:

• A comprehensive assessment by an educational psychologist

• 40 hours of individual tutoring by an experienced teacher

• Speech/occupational therapy support

All Ronald McDonald Learning Program (RMLP) services are provided free to families and schools thanks to the funding from the generous supporters of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

RMLP staff based in the Westmead house runs many activities for children staying in the house including holiday and homework programs, Big Book Breakfast and general educational support and guidance. For more information, vIsit Ronald McDonald Learning Program.


By expanding your involvement with us, you can engage more staff, receive additional partnership benefits and have a much bigger impact in helping us support seriously ill children and their families.

Broader partnership opportunities and ways for you to support RMHW include:

  • In kind donations are always needed and are vital to offset the cost of running the House and Family Room.  

  • Enabling your staff to support us in a Payroll Giving Program, which includes a small regular, pre-tax donation. (see form attached).

  • Internal fundraising events to engage staff on an on-going basis to increase morale, connectivity and foster team-work.

  • Set up an Everyday Hero page and dedicate your next run, walk or swim to us!

  • Contributing financially to a much needed upgrade or renovation project at the House.

  • Additional opportunities can be discussed that will provide your organisation with value and return in acknowledgement of your support for RMHW.
