Staying With Us

NORTH QUEENSLAND

We provide accommodation support to families of seriously ill children who are currently receiving treatment at the Townsville Hospital.

CRITERIA TO STAY

Families of Seriously Ill Children

Parents who have a seriously ill child or children are welcome to stay at Ronald McDonald House. We warmly welcome families from all over Queensland and Papua New Guinea and other states if necessary.

Ronald McDonald House is a family facility therefore Mum, Dad and the kids can all stay together for little or no cost.

Patients and their families who are receiving treatment either as an inpatient or outpatient at the Townsville Hospital or another medical facility in Townsville can stay with us.

Expectant Mums

We also welcome mothers who are awaiting the birth of their baby or babies who need to be close to medical care prior to the birth.

The Townsville Hospital is the only other hospital in Queensland outside Brisbane that has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to care for pre-term and very ill babies. Mothers and babies are transferred from their base hospital either before the birth or immediately after.

These babies are often in hospital for some weeks or months until they are well enough to be discharged to their home.
