About Us

NORTH AUSTRALIA

This program is governed by the North Australia Chapter.

Ronald McDonald House North Queensland has been caring for seriously ill children and their families from regional North Queensland communities since 2004.
We have recently changed our chapter name to Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia.
Now caring for sick children and their families from across north Australia including Cairns and Hinterland, Torres Strait and Papua New Guinea,
Darwin and the Northern Territory, Mackay and the Whitsundays, Rockhampton, Townsville and surrounds, Mount Isa and North and Central West Queensland.

Located at Townsville Hospital, our hospital-adjacent House can accommodate over 100 people each night. The average length of stay for these families is 2-3 months.
We assist with travel, clothing, food and other essentials that families need during a medical emergency.

We are so proud to now reach more seriously ill children from communities in the north of Australia through our House, Family Retreat, Family Room and Learning Program.
