Living in rural or remote NSW can mean families have to make long, tiring and often expensive journeys so their child can get their health check ups from city hospitals.

To lessen the burden, Ronald McDonald House Charities has partnered with Royal Far West to launch the first Australian  Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to bring healthcare to rural & remote areas of NSW.

Used by teams of Royal Far West clinicians the 12-metre long Care Mobile truck is fitted with two consulting rooms and provides a range of health care services including paediatrics, speech therapy, dietetics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychiatry and social work. Video conferencing and other technologies will also be incorporated.

To access this mobile care facility patients and their families can be referred through to their Manly-based service while the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be administered from RMH Orange.
