Visiting the Family Room

Take a break from the ward and be together as a family at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Perth Children’s Hospital.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is a refuge for you and your family while visiting or staying with a child in hospital. Step away from the ward and into our inviting Family Room where we have a spacious lounge area, a kitchen with complimentary tea and coffee facilities, a Family Resource library and internet facilities, as well as a Parenting Room and a children’s play area, where kids can take time out to have fun.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is also home to Kulunga Moort Mia, a culturally sensitive space for Aboriginal families to take time out or meet with the hospital’s Aboriginal Liaison Officers.

Our Team

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is run by a dedicated team of volunteers under the guidance of our Operations Manager Courtney Kennedy.

Eligibility

We want to make sure families have a home-away-from-home inside the Hospital, away from the clinical environment of the ward. That’s why our Family Room was purpose built for the free and exclusive use of parents, carers, guardians and their families with children undergoing inpatient or outpatient treatment at Perth Children’s Hospital

Fees

Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are free of charge. Thanks to generous donations, families have a space away from the wards to recoup and simply be together.
