A magical journey

It’s been 30 years since the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Australia. When you look back it’s easy to focus on the big numbers, like the thousands of families we help each year or the hundreds of volunteers that assist each day. But our charity always comes back to the individual. We help one child at a time, one day at a time.

Ronald McDonald House Charities is now helping more children and families that we have ever been able to. We’ve just completed a dramatic overhaul of our House facilities across the country and we’ve expanded programs that are really making a difference such as the Learning Program.

We continue to grow and could not do it without our volunteers, employees, House boards, and other support staff. They are our frontline helpers.

We also must recognise the public and Corporate Australia who give to our charity so generously each year and finally we would like to acknowledge the McDonald’s family who support RMHC in Australia in so many different ways, like the franchisees and their employees as well as suppliers and McDonald’s Australia – who meet all our administration costs, so all our donations can go directly to one of our programs.

The map and graph to the left chart our “journey” over the past 30 years – we hope you enjoy reading them.
