Legendary Australian rockers Icehouse headlined this year’s 20th Ronald McDonald House Charities Victorian Gala Ball on Friday 8th July at Crown’s Palladium Ballroom.

Hosted by Channel 9 personality Pete Smith, over 1,100 guests of the Charity witnessed Icehouse perform a host of their classics, including ‘Great Southern Land’, ‘Can’t Help Myself’ and ‘Electric Blue’.

Joining Icehouse on the entertainment line-up was Australia’s number one Lady Gaga tribute show ‘House of Gaga’, who astonished guests with her likeness to the pop icon in both looks and performance style.

Following dessert, guests remained on their feet well into the evening in the spirit of celebration as Australia’s favourite 80’s tribute band Stand and Deliver took to the stage to perform a myriad of 80's classics. The night was a great fundraising success with over 100 hot auction items snapped up including luxury goods, memorabilia and experiential opportunities. Tickets to the 2011 Grand Final and Grand Final Breakfast and a 2010 signed Collingwood Football Club jumper proved amongst the most popular.

Returning in 2011 for its second year, the Pol Roger Perfect Diamonds Bar once again proved to be the place to be seen on the evening, with one lucky French champagne enthusiast walking away with a pair of diamond earrings modelled on those worn by Catherine Middleton at this year’s Royal Wedding, valued at $6400. A generous total of $440,000 was raised on the evening, providing a wonderful celebration of 20 years, with all funds going directly to supporting the important work done by RMHC in Victoria.
