Ronald McDonald House received phenomenal support from a number of individuals, organisations and businesses.
This support may be "in-kind" donations or services, regular donations of cash to assist with the running of services in the House or larger donations.
The House relies heavily on these donations and on the Ronald McDonald House Ball which provides up to $50,000 per annum to assist with running costs.
Donations from the community help the families who stay at the House. Pantry items, cleaning products, flowers, newspapers and magazines, stationary, IT, home entertainment items, kitchen items, linen services, Austar, Air-conditioning and Fire services, soft furnishings, toys and books all make the families feel that there is some "normality" in their lives.
Cash donations help ensure that the House is maintained to a high standard and old items are replaced as required. Rooms are painted, beds, electrical items, televisions and carpets upgraded and replaced and the House becomes 'a home' thanks to generous assistance from the community.
Feeling safe and comfortable means a lot to the families who stay at the House.
"Thank you for making a stressful time of our lives easier by having a comfortable and safe place to be."
"We just wanted to thank you for everything. It is all the little things that make it a lot easier to be away from home and we appreciate all of the work that you do, as well as those people and companies that donate to Ronald McDonald House."
