From Our Chairman

As we move from winter into spring, I am pleased to be able to update you on our Wagga Wagga Ronald McDonald House. We have experienced a very busy winter period and welcomed many families to the House from the Riverina, South West Slopes and beyond.

The Board thanks all our wonderful volunteers for going ‘the extra mile’ to ensure that we have provided a welcome home away from home for our families.

While our resources have been stretched to the limit on a number of occasions and we have had families waiting for a room to become vacant, we have coped very well. We have even managed some ‘spring cleaning’ during the last month of winter with the cleaning of carpets and the washing of curtains. As we come out of winter, our front garden is looking particularly good – thank you to everyone who helps to keep it that way.

Our staff and Board members continue to take part in training opportunities so that we can continue to provide a high level of service to the families who stay with us. Ongoing training will also be offered to our volunteers over the next few months. I am delighted to announce that Daryl and Joanne Kelly have accepted our invitation to become local Patrons of the Wagga Wagga House. Daryl and Joanne have been long time supporters of the House and we extend a warm welcome to them.
