RED DOOR APPEAL

We've built the House... Help us make it a home

The new Ronald McDonald House in Adelaide is almost complete. The new House will double our capacity, enabling us to help more  country families in their time of need. With eight two-bedroom apartments and two cottages, the new facility will cater for longer-term families who need more space and privacy during their challenging stay in Adelaide.

We are currently running a Red Door Appeal to help us furnish the new property in time for the first families to move in in early 2011.

We have created a registry of items we need for the new House. By donating something from our Red Door Appeal catalogue you will be directly helping the families that call Ronald McDonald House Adelaide 'home'

Ronald McDonald House Building Appeal

Hands to build a house…hearts to build a home

The Ronald McDonald House Building Appeal has been established to raise $4 million for a new development designed to compliment our current facility. Presently, our House is limited to providing motel-style accommodation with communal living areas for only ten families at a time.

The new facility will house an additional ten families in individual, self-contained units, providing greater stability to long-stay families who are suffering enormous emotional and financial strain.

The new development, located at 270 Melbourne Street, North Adelaide directly opposite our current facility will include:

o    8 two-bedroom apartments and 2 cottages each with private bathroom, kitchen, dining and living space, and outdoor area.
o    An outdoor playground inclusive of a bike track
o    A Peace garden for private, quiet meditation
o    A gym with equipment to allow for stress release.

The apartments are designed to be “green”, including double glazing of glass panels, roof overhangs, storage of rain water, solar roof panels for hot water heating and for power generation.
