CHARITY BALLS
Every year, the RMHC Mercedes Benz Ball Committee and the Kalgoorlie Goldfields Children Charity Ball Committee each organise a gala charity ball to benefit Ronald McDonald House Perth. Every 4th year the Brittany Fairy Ball Committee puts on a special ball that is a must attend event for the community. Proceeds of this event are donated to RMH to fund special projects.
The RMHC Mercedes Benz Ball is the number one event of Perth's social calendar and last year's ball themed 'Passion" held on Saturday 6 November 2010 reaffirmed its standing as Australasia's most successful charity ball ever by raising a staggering $902,000.00 on the night.
The closely guarded theme of the 2011 Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Mercedes-Benz Ball was revealed as ‘POP’ at the VIP launch held in the historic Perth Town Hall on Tuesday 17 May.Guests were given a sneak peek at what to expect at this year's gala ball to be held in the Burswood Grand Ballroom on Saturday 5 November 2011 when they’ll be taken on a journey through the decades to the sights and sounds of Australian and international pop music, pop art and pop culture.
The RMHC Ball, the most fabulous party of the social season, will again live up to its show-stopping reputation with Aussie powerhouse Vanessa Amorosi as the headline act and 80’s pop band front-man and reporter to the stars, Richard Wilkins as emcee.

The Goldfields Children Charity and Silver Lakes Resources joined forces to hold a most 'Glamorous' gala on 19 March 2011 at the Oasis Centre in Kalgoorlie. Sponsors and the 860 guests had a ball and a whopping $175,000.00 was raised to benefit Ronald McDonald House, the Royal Flying Doctor Service – Western Operations and the families and children of the Goldfields.
Tickets sold out fast to this posh evening and all in attendance enjoyed fine food and drinks, great entertainment and foot stomping music that kept everyone dancing the night away. Several amazing items were auctioned in a high rollers auction, including a luxury trip on the True North and an AC DC signed guitar.
Ronald McDonald House was well represented by our Facilities Coordinator, Courtney Kennedy and our RMH Chairman, Glenn Baker who expressed his appreciation and admiration to the organisers and the community for their unwavering support to our charity since 2003.
Next year’s event is already in the planning stages and will be held on 24 March 2012. We’ve heard that the Goldfields Children Charity has already thought of several exciting new ways to help Ronald McDonald House and we can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned for us.
On Saturday 4 June, the 2011 Brittany Fairy Ball was held at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre in the heart of Harvey in support of Ronald McDonald House Perth. Several of the RMH staff members took a road trip down to join in this special celebration and it was a privilege to attend and witness firsthand the level of generosity in the community.
The venue was transformed overnight from a recreation centre into a breathtaking ballroom and over 500 guests enjoyed a fantastic time dancing the night away to Perth's homeboy Courtney Murphy and his band. Auctioneer Tiny Holly whipped up a bidding frenzy and people generously donated towards the good cause. This year's ball also marked the end of an era as the final Brittany Fairy Ball and without a doubt the community far and wide will miss this special event. We send thanks to Tim and Debbie Headley and their amazing committee members, Anne Ritikis, Anna Capogreco, Scott Chately, Diana Lofthouse, Ornella Morabito, Joyce Sorgiovanni, Katherine and Kevin Italiano for their support to our charity and for putting on the 'best party in town'.
